about

Sweet Legacy

The sweetness of our legacy lies in the cherished moments of life lessons in the kitchen. This is where we cook, eat, and create with family and friends. Try our catering, cooking classes, or order a beignet station or mobile café for your next event. From Modern Comfort Food to Festival Favorites to Louisiana Snoballs, we offer menus for all ages, aiming to provide a meal while creating great memories.

Every order helps support The Food and Family Project—an initiative dedicated to building connections within foster and adoptive families. Through shared meals, hands-on cooking experiences, and community programs, we strive to bring families closer together. Learn more at thefoodandfamilyproject.com.

about

Tierra Alexander

Tierra Alexander is the founder of Sweet Legacy LLC, a social enterprise born from her passion for sharing her family’s recipes and cooking traditions. Sweet Legacy is more than a culinary business—it’s a mission-driven initiative designed to help families create lasting memories, empower youth to build character and life skills, and support interventions for foster, adoptive, and blended families.

Since 2016, Sweet Legacy has brought people together through festivals, cooking classes, and catered events. The company earned top honors at the 2020 Beignet Fest, securing both 1st and 2nd Place awards for its savory dishes, and has been a beloved vendor at the National Fried Chicken Festival.

Tierra’s love for food began at the age of six, baking alongside her grandmother, and was further inspired by her grandfather, a professional pastry chef. Surrounded by a family of exceptional cooks, Tierra has carried on this legacy with her own creative flair, combining her culinary expertise with a deeper mission.

With a Ph.D. in Social Work from LSU, Tierra’s research and practice focus on the profound connection between food and family. Through The Food and Family Project—an initiative supported by Sweet Legacy—she works to strengthen relationships in foster and adoptive families by fostering shared experiences around the table.
